Howard formed the Company in 1987, having had good experience with many national and local firms, both in Contracting and Consulting Engineering and using his experience he has built the Company up into a Multi-Disciplinary Practice in terms of Civil, Structural, Geotechnical and Traffic & Transportation Engineering.
Howard specialises in the assessment of Value Engineering for many of the schemes in the office and has considerable experience in developing difficult sites where the ground conditions require specialist knowledge and good past experience.
Howard is keen to ensure that all of the schemes developed within the Practice provide the most competitive and optimum solution based not only on the design but also in terms of the ability to construct the project satisfactorily on site.
Howard has past experience with major contractors including Wates and Taylor Woodrow, Drainage Design and Site Supervision with Newark Council, Bridge Design and Consultancy with Nottinghamshire County Council, Consulting Engineering with Kenchington Little & Partners, who became WSP, and now thirty years with HSP Consulting Engineers Limited.
His experience is welcomed by many developers and contractors throughout the U.K. and much of the expansion in the Company has come from providing Value Engineered solutions to all of our schemes which reduces the Contract Sum not only for Developers but also the Main Contractors during the scheme on site.
Howard is keen to ensure that young Engineers within the Practice are given the best possible experience and that the Multi-Disciplinary team that exists within the Company ensures that they get good experience in all aspects of Civil, Structural, Geotechnical and Traffic Engineering.
Howard is a past Chairman of the Institute of Structural Engineers in the East Midlands and, as a Fellow of the Institution, contributes not only to local aspects of Civil & Structural Engineering in the Midlands, but also on a national scale in terms of his past experience helping both the Institution and many of the Universities where he gives lectures to encourage the graduates and future engineers coming into the construction industry to ensure a strong Engineering basis for young engineers in the future.
