HSP Consulting Engineers were employed by Peterborough City Council to advise on significant costs savings for a new build secondary school for 1500 students. The previous engineer was proposing a suspended ground floor slab solution was for suspended slabs. HSP Consulting Engineers Environmental reviewed the ground investigation and determined that a ground bearing floor slab solution could be adopted. This design change resulted is significant savings in both construction materials and programme time.
This large two and three storey steel framed school was designed to include a 3G All Weather Sports Pitch, an Amphitheatre and a Learning Resource Centre, all of which were assessed by HSP Consulting Engineers Civil Engineering team to reduce the onsite drainage requirements.
