Megaclose
Megaclose instructed HSP to value engineer the 22 storey elliptical structure. We decided to design a steel frame and a reinforced concrete frame as two separate solutions for the contractors to decide which they preferred. The reinforced concrete frame consisted of two storey precast concrete columns with a 200mm thick in situ reinforced concrete slab for each of the suspended floors. This reduced the height of the building by two storeys and consequently a further 2 storeys could be added to this solution, making it more economically viable.
The summit was constructed in September 2012 and has since been awarded Large Residential Scheme of the Year Award in 2013 by Procon Leicestershire.
