HSP were commissioned by Amber Infrastructure Ltd to advise on the construction of Albany Meadows; a new retirement development consisting of 39 contemporary homes featuring a mix of two-bedroom bungalows, three-bed houses and two-bed apartments, all with access to landscapes green spaces, car parking and a wide variety of amenities and services.
The development was initially planned to be designed with piled foundations; however was considered to be too expensive and therefore not viable to construct. HSP assessed the foundation conditions and undertook additional trial hole investigations, proceeding to confirm to the client that 60% of the site could be stabilised utilising vibroflotation. This provided a significant cost saving, allowing for the scheme to proceed according to the timeline.
Albany Meadows was completed in October 2018 and is now in operation.
