Aidan House, an office block built on a landfill and former site of a battery and asbestos works, was to be refurbished for use as student accommodation. The building was constructed in the 1960’s with a reinforced concrete frame and required significant alterations for introducing the lift and staircase access points in terms of connections and alterations for the concrete frame.
HSP’s structural team were involved in the undertaking of a full structural survey and the design of a feature two storey front extension.
